iPhone talk part 1
My iPhone kill a lot of my times since using it on Mac 28 this year. Jan 1, 2009, I officially used it for 8 month =) Thats a lot of time :D and i am totally satisfied with it from time to time, thats good! This post not to show off my iPhone (yeah its everywhere now, not only me using it, duh!), just a share of info and experienced of using it, so enjoy reading =) Thanks

Bought it at Low Yat Plaza for exactly RM 2k (still keep the receipt), so expensive those old day (even after months of released - iPhone released on Jan 9, 2007) thats why only bought the 8gb =) and on July 11, iPhone 3G was out with way too expensive for normal user like me. Funny thing, all i know before buy the iPhone is get the iPhone with firmware v1.4 (latest/final fw that time) LOL, other than 1.4 FW, rejected LOL. Keep the iPhone 3G 16GB on my wish list now!
My iPhone is the 1st generation, 8GB. The day that ‘installer’ had the golden day. With firmware 1.4 on that day, jailbroken of course. Its cool to know that we will not be outdate using this gadget, as long as you master the ‘skill’ =)
It took a lot of reading and googling to be fully pro, 10 years old n00b also sure can master the art. I started to restore my iPhone when I am not satisfied with the seller FOC app =) He jailbroken and activated it for me for the 1st time, yeah I am totally new/n00b to this ‘technology’. The jailbroken iPhone the seller do-it for me had a lot of problem, damn! The main problem is the installer app (aa remembered it so well), thats important app on that day, without it, your iPhone should be throw at a dog (if the dog died, congratulations! XD)
Now I am on 2.2 firmware (released on Nov 21), which the latest firmware released by Apple, much more improvement! and for 1st Gen user, its a plus because the iPhone DevTeam usually break it soon after official FW released. Im totally jump from 1.4 straight to the 2.1 FW, and learned from 2.1 afterwords. There is a lot of FW before 2.1 for sure, 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2 and many more that I totally did not follow, maybe i have no time to learn at that time.
The only thing that i miss on the old firmware(v1.4) is the offline wikipedia. I still can’t run the Wikipedia app from AppStore on my 2.2 FW. I totally love a 2GB+ wikipedia database on my iPhone for offline browsing. For those who still on 1.4 FW, jailbreak your iPhone and get the wikipedia dump file, google for it XD Its for FOC.
